First Notice: British Card Days Across the Bridge
2006
British automobile enthusiasts, although we in the
wonderful north eastern corner of North America are all suffering
through winter (albeit an unusually mild one so far), be of good
heart ...summer will be here before you know it! With summer will
come the pleasures of British motoring and attending
British Car Days Across the Bridge 2006.
You have been here before and
we hope you will support this years event. It may be hard to believe
but this will be our 8th
annual gathering in Rustico! Full
details regarding this year’s event and registration forms will be
distributed during the winter but the organizing committee wanted to
let you know now which weekend to book out on your calendar.
This year’s dates are July 14-16, a little later in
the month than recent shows. Hopefully choosing this weekend will
avoid some past conflicts with other events, automotive or
otherwise. The general roster of events, many of which are currently
in various phases of the planning process, will be similar to those
of the past couple of years. Most importantly we want to let you
know that this year we will be
featuring the most popular British sports car ever built, the MGB!
Whether they be chrome or
rubber bumper, roadster or GT,
all MGB’s will be welcome
and share the limelight as
the featured car. The featured British car club this year will be
the Greater Moncton British
Motoring Association. Their
members have been loyal supporters of
British Car Days Across the Bridge
in past years and this year
they to will share center stage.
It is hoped that we can attract a much larger
contingent of British motor bikes for everyone’s viewing pleasure.
Longtime BMAPEI member Peter Noakes is responding to the challenge
of attempting to put this together. To bolster your spirits in
winter, it is a great time to review the cars and events of previous
shows. You can do this with the professionally photographed and
prepared CD ROM(s) of our past three shows, each containing hundreds
of fabulous photos of all the cars and all of the
events.
You didn’t have one?? The Club still has a
quantity available for each show. The cost is
$18. Please check out
http://www.bmapei.com/store.htm
and you will find where to buy these
and other Club Regalia items.
Safe driving this winter and look forward to seeing
everyone this summer!
