British Car Days Across the Bridge is an annual event first
organized in 1999 by the British Motoring Association of
Prince
Edward Island (BMAPEI) in cooperation with the Cymbria Lions Club
of South Rustico, PEI. The event takes place in mid-July and features
a day-long show of vintage British vehicles which is open to the
general public. For participants who enter their vehicles in the
show, the event takes place over a weekend, beginning with the Golf Tournament
(2nd annual) at the Glasgow Hills Resort and Golf Club
followed by the very
popular Friday evening opening reception and winding up on Sunday with a
British breakfast and festivities at the Confederation Centre of
the Arts. The Saturday show and
related activities (vendors,
Meguiar's, European Common Market &
BMAPEI Regalia Tent) provide spectators and participants alike a day packed with
fun featuring our legendary Island hospitality and the beautiful
scenery at the Lions Club grounds in South Rustico, all focused
around vintage British vehicles. Proceeds go to support Lions Club
charitable activities.
This page includes a detailed itinerary as well as other information
about the event as well as a link to a printable registration form.

Competitive Changes New for 2004 British Car Days Across the
Bridge
In the
2004 British Car and Motorcycle Show, we are introducing two new
features related to the judging of vehicles.
Not all
registrants may wish to be have their vehicles entered in the
judging which takes place Saturday afternoon. They will now have
the option of only showing their vehicle to the general public.
Vehicles not entered for judging will still be on display as
always, they will just not be visited by the judges. This will
take some pressure off the judges who have had to examine all
cars in their judging class, even if the owner was not seriously
interested in competitive judging. Any owner not wanting to have
his/her vehicle entered should indicate so on the registration
form. If already registered, an e-mail notice of same should be
sent to Chris
Spenceley, or let the person know when picking up
registration materials when arriving at the show.
Secondly, a new prestigious category of recognition has been
created for the coming year called the Concours
d'Elegance Awards. Entrance in this class will be
voluntary and separate from the regular judging classes.
Vehicles entered in this class will not be judged for the
regular class awards. It will include all makes and models in
one win, place, and show competition. Owners of vehicles that
have won in their class the previous year are encouraged to
enter this new competition.
For this
year there will no difference in the registration fee if a
vehicle is not entered for judging or if it is entered in the Concours
d'Elegance competition.

Worried about a vehicle break down? Don't be.
Of course they never break down, but just in case, these kind
people have offered to help.

The European Common Market - British Car
Days version
What is it? Tables set up at the Saturday show, staffed
by event volunteers so that you don't have to miss any of the fun,
where you can sell (and buy) parts for your British vehicle.
How does it work? Simply bring your parts clearly marked
with your name and selling price. Buyers can either purchase at
the marked price or hunt you down and haggle. Each participant is
allowed to sell up to 100 items.
What does it cost you? There will be a 15% administration
fee charged on the selling price.
